I introduce the NeW LSX78 fly and we talk about what some of the new features are.  We will be launching it at the upcoming Ft. Lauderdale boat show Oct 29 – Nov 2.  You can also see more pics of the LSX78 fly in the post located below or by clicking HERE.  Leave some comments and let me know what you think.  As always you can follow us on facebook or twitter.

“we’ve really had a nice run on that 75″
is that it for the lsx 75?

David, Yes the 75 will be replaced by the 78. You can get the 78 without a flybridge though.

Will the bridge clearance on the LSX 78 be the same as the LSX 75? The shallow draft and low bridge clearance on the LSX 75 made for a fast, sea going, canal boat that could just about go anywhere.

    S. It will not be the same, it will be higher. I will have to find out how much higher though.

    S. Reed, the new LSX78 will be 12″ higher than the LSX75.

Thanks, Rich for the quick reply.

I have a question for you. Does it upset you that other boat builders are copying the LSX design on their own yachts. Or do you take that as the greatest compliment that any boat designer could ever receive?

Stu, hahaha, funny you should ask. Check out a post I did on this http://www.lazzarayachtsblog.com/2008/12/13/boats-blogsuncle-brad-and-im-not-flattered/

That should answer your question ;)

Rich, do you know what the range is on the LSX75/78? When comparing the 75/78 to it’s Thailand (if memory serves me right) built knock off, it fails to meet the standards of the 75/78. For using the same engine set up, and being a bit shorter than the 75, it is slower and has a deeper draft, however it does have a larger fuel tank, so that’s why I am curious to see the difference in the ranges, which I assume is longer on the knock off due to it’s larger tank, but the 75/78 most likely has the better fuel economy (shallower draft & higher top end with same engine set up).
