New Lazzara LSX78 fly

New Lazzara LSX78 fly

Posted on 25. Sep, 2009 by Rich Lazzara in LSX78Fly

So here are the latest renderings of the newest Lazzara, the LSX78 fly. In addition to the new flybridge we have lengthend the platform on the boat making it 78′ .  We also took your feedback from the poll we ran several months ago and painted in red, actually more Merlot in tone. I believe we are the first boat company to use social media and get an actionable item on a boats design. Thanks to everyone who voted.

You can see the new flybridge arrangement gives you much more seating as well as lowers the overall profile by eliminating the hardtop (like on the LSX92). With the edition of the flybridge this express yacht really creates a new category.  Remember this is a 78′ yacht with 4 full staterooms, plus crew.  Add on the flybridge and we are offering motor yacht type volume in an express yacht package.  Plus this yacht will come with a stabilizer system, which again is a feature traditionally reserved for the motor yacht class.  There is no doubt that this will be the hit of the boat show.

We will be debuting the yacht at the Ft. Lauderdale Boat Show October 29th – November 2nd at the Bahia Mar Marina.  Please stop by and see us at our usual facedock location.

Very nice, a wonderful addition to the LSX line, and my favorite yacht to date that you make.

    Rich-
boat looks great, but isnt the radar dome a little close to where the passengers will be sitting? It looks like it is at eve level to someone sitting down

That changes the entire look of the boat. I like it.

David, good catch. We are in fact using a brand new type of “radar”. Its does not use the same harmful radar waves that historically have been a problem. It is a new product that you will be seeing on the market more and more.

Ryan, thanks, I agree it really makes the boat look completely different. Wait til you see the finished boat.

    Rich,
Is that radar technology something you are co-developing with the manufacturer like the IPS 900 system, or will we start to see this technology emerge before the launch of the 78?

No its not something we were involved with . Ill get the manufacturer and post it. I believe there are several units out there. Not up to speed on it as much as I need to be. I saw the unit sitting in our Area 51 and haven’t had a chance to play with it yet. Ill let you know.

    Rich,
I posted too soon, there is an article in this months yachting about the new radar technology. Looks very cool, I’m happy to see you guys are still installing the latest and greatest technology.

    Hi Rich,

The LSX78 Fly may be the perfect yacht for the owner-operator. You get the space of a 90 footer and the agility of a 30 footer. Absolutely gorgeous in the Merlot. Only one comment: I would consider swapping out the Segways for a couple of Derringer Cycles. If you aren’t familiar with them, they are a 1920’s styled moped and are quite popular in the LA area. I would think they would be popular in the trendy FL areas as well. Best wishes on a successful launch.

The boat is stunning! I love the new seating area on the bow.

Not too crazy about the dark red hull… it seems to take away from the contrast that the windows provided. That could just be the renderings though… can’t wait to see it!

Hank, I agree it does take away from the contrast of the windows on hull, some people like that, others dont. She will be at the Ft. Lauderdale Boat Show Oct 29 – Nov2. See you there.

What is the draft, top speed, cruise speed and range of the LSX78?

  17. Rich Lazzara

    25. Oct, 2009

Damon, Thanks for commenting and asking questions. The draft is 42″, the top speed is 32kts, cruise speed is 26kts. Range at cruise is 400miles. Slow it down to 10kts for long range cruising and its nearly 1,500 miles. Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Meir, Which parts do you prefer? Do you mean not have a flybridge?
